Anna has had the rewarding experience this year of working alongside the team at Spring Active, helping out on their “Premier™ Programme” to offer guidance to participants in both exercise and mind body techniques.
Each two week programme, for people with chronic pain, involves working with a variety of health professionals, allowing participants to gain the education and tools they need to effectively manage their pain and discover a new lease of life.
Following the most recent programme, one participant, Shaun, made the following statement:
“I entered into the programme with an open mind. This was hugely beneficial as the teachings of the course can only be achieved with a willingness to change your current situation.
The specialist help I received has given me a completely opposite outlook to the one I had before enrolment. I was in a very dark room waiting for others to open the doors, when the reality was that I was holding the key all the time.
With this help, guidance and positive structure I am now in a position of being able to return to work and continue with getting my life back on track after a downward spiral for 18 months.”
Project Breakalign continues to develop, with recent funding from Le Centre National de la Danse. David and Anna have met with the team several times this year to work on building the methodology for the project, which aims to help reduce injury in break dancers by providing specialist training protocols.
